The DPD (N, N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) is introduced in the present study as an analytical reagent for direct, rapid, easy, and sensitive spectrophotometric detection of hexavalent chromium Cr (VI) species which health hazard. oxidization colorless with results a red color radical (DPD•+) at pH 4.39. intensity directly proportional to concentration. By utilizing UV-Vis spectrophotometer, measurement produced DPD•+ can be identified term quantity 551 nm. linear calibration graphs 0.2 – 2 mg. L?1 are obtained correlation coefficient value 0.9997. molar absorption Sandell's sensitivity 2.5449x104 L.mol?1cm?1and 0.028 (VI), cm?2, respectively. work develops, optimizes, validates new method determining samples synthetically prepared wastewater tap water. effectively applied findings statistically evaluated those reference method.
